Smile My G35 Sedan Custom Exhaust...

Well Guys/Gals I am mostly on Frenzy but thought everyone should see this since I know alot of Sedan are here as well...

Well after a long while with the midpipe being a 2.25 to 2.5 i decided to open it up a bit.

Exhaust as follows:
Top Speed Pro 1 Headers (Heat Wrapped)
Stock Cats
Top Speed Pro 1 Y-Pipe 2.25 to 3 inch
Custom 3 Inch Crush Bend with an Extreme Technologies Racing Muffler (NHRA Approved)
HKS Legamax Muffler

The HKS has a 3 inch flange and it reduces to 2.5 smoothly.

You can notice in the pics the mid pipe looks immensely bigger than the HKS, yet incredibly enough NO RASP!

Butt Dyno:
Car lost torque down low but i can feel the transition up top, pulls much nicer, rev's a bit quicker since the restriction is not as bad as it was.

Noise level in the cabin is about moderate, with the radio 12-14 you can not hear the exhaust only the intake.

I am awaiting the Crawford Z HFC's and I will revise this thread once its done.... as usual dyno's are pending!

For now here is a video clip.

and some pics

Mid-Pipe muffler used:

1010-3030

I'm not sure of the benefit of opening it up to 3" to neck it down to 2.5" again.

Would sure like a dyno sheet if possible. With the auto, I'd hate to give up any more low end torque with our crappy ign timing maps below 3000 rpm

Its not a sigficant loss but i mean you can feel its a loss...(drive 100miles per day and you can tell when something is out of place)

I am pending the HFC's and then a dyno followed by a T/S Reflash

3 inch is kind of a large jump from 2.25 inches. I figure there is a reason Fujitsubo and Tanabe only go to 2.75 inches. Ohter than the size it looks good. I will have to wait until after work to listen to clips (you tube is filtered by firewall).

Its only a small section going 3 inch then back down to 2.5.... If anything i think this helped the mid-range - top end alot more... before the car would slow down up top now it just wants to keep going

Where did you get the muffler? Is it the HKS rear section commonly used by sedan owners?
