Group 35 vs. 24F Batteries (Photos)

My battery was up in age and I noticed that it would turn over slower and slower every cold morning so I figured I should get a new one before it's too late.

I looked thru this site to see which size battery we use and there seems to be some confusion in some threads on whether it is a Group size 24F or 35.

After a bit more searching I found that the correct one is Group 35 (even though the costco booklet showed 24F for my 2007)

Here are a couple of photos to show the difference between both. Apparently the previous owner had a 24F installed (wrong one) so I purchased the correct one. See the difference in sized below.

Your old 24F has a lot more cranking amps though. I wonder if that's because it's a Duralast Gold or if that size just holds more--did you happen to see a Kirkland 24F there?

Yup I saw 24F kirkland batteries.

As far as the CCA...meh car starts just fine in the 20 degree weather we had this morning.
My car starts a lot faster now and notice the car seems more "alive" and interior lights a tad brighter. Can be all in my mind though.

BTW current price of Kirkland batteries are $74 for our cars

This has been discussed before (I believe in the DIY section.)

The 24F battery size is OEM for the 2007 Infiniti G35 coupe, not the sedan. The OEM size for the 2007 Infiniti G35x sedan is Group 35.

The confusion was due to the same name between coupe and sedan in that year, although the coupe was last generation. I usually tend to use 2008 Infiniti G35x as the proper way to find parts for our sedans, because in 2008 the only G35 available to purchase was the sedan. The parts are also identical between the 2007 and 2008 Infiniti G35 sedan models. (The only exception between the two was the optional packages you can get- 2008 had the Bose Driver's Audio Stage with USB iPod interface and the backup camera standard with navigation package. The technology package in 2008 also included the pre-collision seat belts but not in 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan.) Otherwise, all the other hardware was the same. I believe maybe the LED light next to the sunglasses holder was also changed (from 2 to 1), but that's a very minor difference and won't affect anything.

The coupe for that year was a G37, eliminating all the confusion between parts.

When we perform the low voltage bulletin that affects the V36 cars they all get a 24 group battery to replace the 35 that is in the car. Doesn't matter if is a coupe or a sedan. The bulletin number is ITB10-010c
