Hit 100000 Miles...Recommended Maintenance?

Greetings Fellow G35 Sedan Owners! Just hit 100000 miles on my 2007. Other than replacing the battery, air filter, and oil and filter with Mobile 1 every 7500 miles, and a new set of tires around 60000, I haven't done jack on the car.

What needs to be changed? What should be changed? In another thread I saw plugs at 105000...I can't find that in my owner's manual. Radiator flush? Hoses, plug wires? Is there really a timing chain on this model vice a belt? I don't see recommended mileage interval maintenance on anything! Torque values out the wazoo. I see a warning about not driving my car above 85 MPH without having high speed rated tires :-) . Surprised that I have not died a horrible fiery death on those original tires!

I'd prefer to put in $1500 in maintenance to go the next 100,000 miles than selling for 5-10K and buying new. Any recommendations?

You should've changed your transmission oil long ago...They were recommended to change every 30k miles. You are way long overdue. Hopefully your transmission hasn't deteriorated by much. I'm surprised you haven't even changed your brake pads either. Have they really lasted for 100k miles?

I'm also really surprised you had your set of original tires last 60k miles!

I would change the coolant, brake flush, differential fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid if you haven't done so.

100000 Maintenance

Replacing automatic transmission fluid could be it's own thread! Please tell me what page of the owner's manual says replace this every 30000, because I can't find it. AND, I have NEVER replaced automatic transmission fluid on any car I have ever owned...80K Mazda 626, 80K Pontiac Bonneville, 113K Maxima, and now my Inf G35. 626(Manual)/Bonne/Max(Manual),G35 I have never changed manual or automatic transmission fluid.

What page is the 30K auto trans replacement on in the 2007 owners manual? I can't find it.

Page 9 in your maintenance manual. I would recommend changing all your fluids, whether they may be. There might be a chance that some of your transmission fluid has been burnt. Our cars are notorious for transmissions not as durable as other brands. It all depends on how you drive your car. If you drive your car hard, then 30k is recommended for transmission fluid flushes. Otherwise, I would say you can wait until 50k or 60k to change them if you drive lightly.

Wow, replacing automatic transmission fluid every 30000 miles? What page of the Infiniti Owner's Manual is that on? I have it right in front of me, but I can't find that.

Click on the link I sent you in my post. You're looking at the wrong manual. You're supposed to be looking at the Infiniti maintenance and service guide, not the owner's manual.

You should really be changing your fluids at least every 50k. At least that's the longest I'd go with fluid flushes and I do a lot of quick accelerations, downshifts. You NEED to change your transmission and differential oil ASAP if you haven't yet. Remember, you're not replacing all 12 qts or so of tranny fluid every 30k miles. You're draining like 5qts and replacing 5qts to freshen it up a bit. That's probably why they recommend such close intervals. But then if you haven't done that you probably want to do the whole 12 qts or however much is in there.

Your belt probably needs replacing as well. Mine gets cracks almost every 30k. 30k is when you're supposed to change it anyways. Youre lucky your belt hasn't snapped on you. My belt snapped at 60k and tensioner broke at 120k.
I'd also recommend brake bleeding, new spark plugs, coolant flush, and alignment.

Inspect vs. Replace...

Top of the morning and thanks for all of the replies! Good day to take advantage of our all wheel drive. Snow anyone? Interesting that on the Infiniti website that you can view your owners manual for free, but they want you to buy a subscription to view your maintenance manual. You'd THINK Infiniti would want you to see all of the maintenance for free that you have not been doing so that you'd come in and spend some maintenance $ at a dealer, no? Anyone care to guess why they would not put "maintenance intervals" in the inch thick "owners manual"?

Anyway has the one that I remember.
I see "replace" coolant at 60000. I did that. I see "replace" coolant at 120000. Of course, replace oil every 7500. Replace air filter (actually got washable a long time ago). Replace cabin filter. Got it. But everything else I see is "inspect"...14 things to inspect...from the axle and ball joints all the way to inspecting the transfer case fluid. Maybe those inspections would show that replacement is necessary. But why not "replace" like oil and coolant?

I have no idea, but I gave you the link to the maintenance manual free. It says to replace oil every 3750 miles for the premium maintenance schedule...are you sure you're looking at the right manual? You actually get this manual when you buy your car. It should be in the whole package Infiniti gives you, right behind the owner's manual.

Here, I'll repost it again: please click on this LINK! :

Now if you look at 30k mile intervals (30,000, 60,000) you will see that there are quite of few things that should be replaced. (Differential oil, transfer case oil, belts, transmission fluid, etc)

Congratulations on hitting the 100K mile mark! So according to what you posted you have 40K miles on your tires, are they in good shape? Service should include replacing all fluids and plugs. Look closely at belts, I'd replace em. You haven't replaced your trans fluid in 100K miles? That's scary, I think you're due. Do you have Infiniti do your service? Going to Nissan or finding a qualified mechanic to do your service is a better idea and cost you at least 30% less!

80k is nothing. But once you approach 130-150k on original trans fluid, **** gets crazy! <<< crappy attempt at sarcasm or somthing...

Honestly, just drain and fill (only 3 or 4 qts), drive for a few thousand, then repeat. Slowly introduce new fluid.

Nissan uses a synthetic trans fluid, but everything has limits. The 30k drain fill has been in G35 owner's manuals since 2003.

30K trans oil change is for "premium maintenance", ie. optional. I think every 30k tranny oil change is way overkill personally.

It really depends on what you're doing. Infiniti says premium maintenance is for all kinds of drivers, whether you tow, track, or drive on a lot of dirt roads.

30k is recommended for drivers who push their cars hard, but I would say you should at least change it at 50-60k for normal daily driving.
