I recently had the same debate

I test drove the Saab 9-3 Aero and talked to the dealer about financing. Then, on the way home, stopped into Infiniti, told them what I wanted, went throught the numbers, and decided on the spot to do the deal. The G Blows the doors of the Saab, and money wise, even with the GM Employee Discount deal Saab has going, it comes out to be only $20 more a month for a far superior car. That's my 2 Cents.

Saab: looks good and you can get a screaming lease deal on it, but lots of little nagging issues.

G35: twice the car, more room, plus RWD

Probably depends on whether he wants to lease vs buy. Also depends on how he wants to drive. Saab is a quirky, loveable car (IMHO) but be prepared for all sorts of dealer visits. Sometimes it's worth it for one of those $299/mo type lease deals ... but I bought mine, plus my mileage puts me way over the lease limits

The Saab doesn't do anything for me. The G is 10 times the ride.

My .02

I had a 9-3 prior to my G35. It was like having 2 different cars. It drove really well and seemed decently powered about 8 months year, but as soon as the air conditioning got turned on it was like driving a Ford Escort. It also lacked many of the things you would expect in a car for that price (ex. - ability to lower the windows with the remote). I did get to know the dealer quite well during the time I had it - was frequently there for lots of little things. I enjoyed it while I had it, but I can't say I really miss it. I absolutely love my G35. Solid, very well powered, and well featured for the price.

My wife had 2 Saabs in the past and I really hated the cars. Too many little things broke and the car handled very poorly. To me the Saab is for pseudo enthusiasts and the Saab has something of a cult following of people who say the car is quirky instead of the car is full of defects.

i get the GM discount all the time---i used to be shopping the 9.3 Aero. in my personal opinion, it looks really unique and nice. (if in black) i do not care for the plstic black piece that runs along the sides.

the interior is uniquely Saab. i like it. i love where they key goes for some reason--its also done for safty purposes. i do think, however, think the Aero is priced way too high. the 3 trim levels are the Linear, Arc and Aero in that order. the good news is as of Aug, the Aero gets a boost, literally. currently it has a 210HP but gobbs of torque. as of Aug, 265 HP is standard, plus the gobbs of torque. i have driven one many times. i think it handles well, and is a delight to drive. the stereo sucks.

a fun car. with all of that said, i would rather have a G. the Aero, fully loaded should be in the $36,500 range--to no one penny over $37,500. i think $41,000 is where its at now.

the G all the way

Ok, well hes in the market for an '03. Hes looking for a used 2003 G or Saab. Both would be in the same price range, about $20,000 or alittle higher

Check the CU reliability ratings - the Saab is in the toilet. The 9-5 is OK (have a wagon), but the 9-3 isn't. For a front-driver, the Saab handles well, but there's no substitute for RWD. That said, the customer service at Saab dealers is second to NONE.

That funny. the tag line on their commercials is "most people who test drive a Saab, buy a Saab." Only thing I can say about that is " Suckers"

Saab Reminds Me Of The E36 325 Bmw. I Had A 97 328 Conv. And It Always Out Ran The Aero Saab. Seems Like A Bad Copy Of That Bmw. Their Interiors Are, Get This, Worse Than A G35! Its Hard To Do, But They Managed To Produce An Even Worse Interior Than The G...too Small, They Are On The Same Chasis As The Volvos40 I Think.

I was looking at the Saab 93 convertible when I went shopping for a new car and it is a very nice car but like everyone here has said it has less power (210hp vs. 280hp) and FWD. The 2004 and older have a lot of torque steer, this was corrected in 2005. The other big thing was the depreciation on the Saab is huge and Infiniti is one of the better cars for holding its value. Not sure if this is a result to GM ownership or not.

Dude, I'm not trying to be a *****, but I have difficulty reading your responses. Why do you ProperCase Every Word? When I Read It, It's Like I Am Studdering In My Mind. Just Curious.

Seriously, are you manually capitalizing each first letter, or are you by chance posting into some other text editor that automatically does this for you?

I'm not telling you to stop. It's just intrigued me for a while.
