Passport 9500IX & Laser Shifter ZR3 Install / Integration

So I recently sold my V1, decided it was time for something new but more importantly I wanted a setup that included laser jammers. The Escort series offers both detectors & jammrs that integrate with one another thus removing the need for a separate display for each device. Based on my research, it appears that the diodes should NOT sit behind the grill but rather should be exposed outside (hiding behind grill will decrease performance). Also, because our stock chrome grill is so reflective it's better to mount the diodes higher than lower. The pic below shows where I lan on installing the diodes... red being first preference (better performance, no need to remove bumper), green being 2nd in case mounting to grill slats doesn't seem feasible. However I don't plan on installing the rear jammer only b/c I don't think the benefit outweighs cost (unlikey you'll get hit from the back and the cost of having to worry in case a LEO pulls up behind you and spots it since it's very visible).

I will update this thread with before and after pics. If anyone has any suggestions or advice before I begin the install, please feel free to post. First thing's first, need to identify a competent shop/installer as a professional install is adviced on this type of project.

Sorry for the late response, took a bit longer to source all the parts I needed for a complete isntall. End of day, I mounted the 9500xi right above the clock because the suction cup mounts have known to fail at times and last thing I wanted was my $400 radar to drop from high up on the windshield.

Because the 9500xi integrates into the Laser Shifter system, no need to run the coiled plug but instead ran the hardwire which plugged directly into the interface/brain. That was placed behind the dash near the factory ECU.

I opted against running the rear shifter because didn't want to attract any attention and that would've stuck out like a sore thumb by the rear plate. So I only ran the front shifters and had custom brackets made. I tried to stick to my original plan of installing in the grill but I ended up going a bit closer to the center than originally planned. Because the grill takes on curve shape, the further you go out from the middle, the more the jammers will STICK out since they need to face perpendicular to the car (they can't face on an angle taking on the contour of the grill). Also, this isn't too bad b/c the primary shot from LIDAR is on your plate anyway.

As you can see from the side pic, the jammers really are not noticeable. Even from the front, it's really hard to see them during the day. Props to Slidewayz Motorsports for an excellent job on install. If you are in the Tri-State area, I highly suggest them.

Nice install man. I would look into a Mike's Mount so you don't have to deal with those stupid suction cups anymore.

Where in Jersey are you at? nice to see more jersey sedans around

I'm in the Fort Lee area. Btw if you're looking for a Mike's Mount, I'll sell you mine. I no longer need it (used with the V1 previously)... I have the Invisi Cord as well. Shoot me a PM...

If you want a mirror stalk mount for your 9500, look over my blendmount review on myg37.

Edit: nice install btw.

I actually had a Mike's Mount which is compatible for both the V1 & Escort series but I decided against it. If you see my interior pic, I just have so many devices already in the center (Garmin, iPod) close to me and that would've just been too distracting to add the radar under the mirror. At least where it is now, it's further away from me....

How much do you want for them? My cousin might want it.
I already have both in my car already.

I'd take $35 shipped for both, else I'll just keep em for now.
