VDC BUTTON --To press or not to press??

I've never really driven with it off. Will it screw up anything if I leave it on for a long period of time, whats the real purpose of it anyways, and lastly do I get better gas mileage with it on or off?

Thanks

it will not screw up anything to leave it on (it comes on automatically - you have to deactivate it). you can drive with VDC on or off at no risk to your car (unless in slippery conditions when VDC can be an asset). even in snowy conditions a lot of guys turn it off because a good driver can manage wheel spin to their advantage.

i frequently turn VDC off when i want to have a bit of fun, since VDC will not allow wheel spin/side slip.

VDC (vehicle dynamic control) is akin to a traction control system in that it applies brakes/reduces engine power when wheel slip is detected.

the only way gas mileage would be affected is if you start spinning wheels and driving aggresively with VDC off. other then that, there is no effect on mileage.

^ i guess. take care until you know how your car will react & respond to aggresive driving. and, of course, obey all traffic laws

just be careful. most self inflicted accident stories all begin with,

"so, i turned the VDC off and then..."

Do not drive with VDC off whether it's in the snow or during light drizzle, if you come across black ice or an oil spill, put your head in between your legs and kiss your *** goodbye, too many stories of " I was driving normal when my back went out", ye no **** dumbass, turn VDC off ONLY in dry conditions when you want to drive it like you stole it..

Not exactly. Turning it off is good for burnouts, that's about. Turn it off and make a highspeed turn and see what happens then you can decide if you like it off or not. The reason i worded it that way is because I don't know what your skill level is like. If you're good with recovering from fish-tails then you won't have any problems.

Sloppy and unsafe handling is the result of turning it off, intrusive to very aggressive driving is the result of leaving it on. Take your pick

haha my greatest Mod,

Start the car, I hit VDC off before I put my seatbelt on muahaha I like bunch of lights on my screen =]

Its great but like others have said, Traction will still be there. Its off about 75% of the way, but if U really wanna be an A=hole with it. It might slow down the process

For those that do not have the experience with rwd cars, it is a blessing. Those that have the experience and know how to actually drive rwd cars ( those who understand momentum, under-steer, over-steer, throttle control and how they all work together ) do not always need to use it, but it can help even the best drivers in adverse conditions.

you should always keep it on! You want your car to go where you steer right? And also the only time yoyu really need to turn it off is in the SNOW. When your trying to wiggle your way out of a pile of snow or whatever.
