Any differences between coupe and sedan engines?

I need to swap my 03 G35 engine. I been looking all around for a engine but i have a question that i tried to research but nothibg came up. Can i put a sedans engine into the coupe are they the same? I went to the junkyard and they keep asking me coupe or sedan...

Coupe or sedan does not matter as these cars all shared the same motors with the 350Zs as well. What will matter is the year and trim. I'm not sure if there were any changes int eh standard DE motors from 03/04 to 05+, but 05+ G35s with manual transmissions came with the revup motors that were rated at 298 hp from the factory.

Yea, the mounts will all be the same, but the motors themselves are different. If you have an auto, IMO, you should just swap in a motor and tranny from an auto 05+ G or Z. If you have a manual, do the same, but get the revup motor (05+ G35 with manual transmission or I think it's the track Z)

There are quite a bit of differences between the early 2003 Sedan's and the rest of the VQ's (this is not even talking about the REVUP's)

For starters you have to begin with what ECU does your car have. if it's the 2 plug style you will be compatible with nearly ALL 2005+ Engines non revup. If you have the single plug connector you will have to change the following for your new engine to work with your ECU:

Fuel Injectors, Knock Sensor, and you will have to use your old Oxygen Sensors. The rest plugs right in .

It's the same block, I'm not sure if the internals or cams, etc... are going to be different or not.

does it matter if internals are different? as long as the engine mounts on to the tranny and all the harness plug in should work?

Power output will be different. Altimas have the same motors, but they have been detuned somehow.

I completely agree. Unless you have impeccably good luck, guessing costs more money.

revup motors weren't the only VQ motors with OC issues.
