How much hp do intake, exhaust, hfc give you?

I was wondering how much more hp basic bolt ons such as a cold air intake, aftermarket exhaust, high flow cats give you?

I have a 5AT coupe, 280hp stock. After all those parts installed how many additional hp gains am I looking at around?

not much.... maybe 10-15hp

our cars are fast enough as it is... if your looking to increase the performance you might want to look into FI but other than that you are just making your car sound louder...

10-15hp increase isn't bad at all. well to me at least. Out of those 3 parts, which one would give the most hp gain? the exhaust?

The intake gains will be negligible. Exhaust might be a loss depending on which exhaust you get. So anywhere from -5whp up to +10whp.

The HFC will be the most beneficial and net you 10-15whp.

However, remember that mods don't stack linearly. A good estimation I use is to square all the gains, add them together, and take the square root of the sum.

For example, 3hp from intake, 5hp from exhaust, 10hp from HFC.

3^2 + 5^2 + 10^2 = 134

Square Root of 134 = ~11.5

Wow...over 1k posts on this forum and you don't know the answer to this question???

Your 3 options listed leave out probably the best performance mod, which is a plenum spacer. That alone will net you about 10whp. You're looking at maybe another 10 combined with those other 3, but you'll spend at least 1k. Plenum spacer ~$200.

go intake, spacer, exhaust, hi flow cats and get a tune. if you aren't looking for massive gains that would be your best bet imo.

Also sorry to shatter your dreams your car doesn't have 280hp at the wheels. That would be at the crank with no accessories. Given your 5at you will be some where around 230.

Five years ago when our G35s were really popular in the import mags and they were doing bolt ons and showing the results on a dyno. Stillen advertised it's dual cat-back exhaust to give you 18 RWHP the mag showed it fell a couple short, still not bad. MotorDynes 5/16" spacer has always been a very popular mod and will add at least 10 HP by correcting Nissans design flaw. OE cats is where the biggest restriction is and the answer is either HFC's or test pipes. I wouldn't recommend test pipes as they're illegal and a few will make a major rasp sound. HFC's should give you another 10 HP! Intakes if you believe the manufactures will kick in another 10+ HP but we all know that is b.s., you might get 1 to 3 HP if your lucky but the sound along with a z-tube is invaluable....
