What cars are similar to the G35?

I'm looking to buy a used car sometime very soon and I particularly have fallen in love with the G35. But for reasons like the MPG being a tad low, and the list price being a little high for my range, I may not look into ONLY the G35.

I've looked into other cars like the 350z, of course, and a few others. But, what cars are similar to the G35 in both the look and performance, at an affordable price?

Nissan Altimas are pretty similar in the style category since they are nearly the same. Just interior isn't up to snuff compared to Infiniti. And are a lot cheaper to buy outright. But gas mileage is about the same.

Another nice sports sedan is the Acura TL Type S. Looks sexy AF outside and in. And the gas mileage on those is a tad bit better than the G35. But it is FWD and has been known for somewhat weak transmissions.

EDIT: Also the Type S exterior is definitely not similar to the G. But still looks sexy

Should add the Mazda Speed lineup. Either the 6 or the 3. Both are peppy cars and they look pretty cool. Except some year models have this insane grill that makes the car look like it is smiling wide lol

The 2nd gen TLs (I think this was fixed in either 04-05) have transmissions that lag going into higher gears. I'd look for one that has had the transmission replaced by the revised one Acura made.

Coupe

I'd like to add that I would choose a 2 door coupe, something that I could maybe modify in the future as well. Maybe add a CAI or a muffler possibly. Anything over 20 MPG city?

My price range is looking at about $10k. So maybe landing somewhere around 2001 to 2005

Hmm you can look into an Acura RSX. They are coupes with around 200hp (for the Type S model) which aint bad at all for such a lightweight car. They have over 20mpg city mileage for the 2002 model.

If you don't need a back seat you could look at the 350Z but you'll have to live without a sunroof. I get wood looking at the new Nismo 370Zs but not sure I could let SLICK go!

What exactly are you looking for? I think you should first determine if RWD is a crucial point and if you want manual vs auto. If you want the fun and performance of an FR car, and a somewhat luxury car then your options get significantly smaller like an e46 3 series bmw, the g35/37, or hyundai genesis, lexus is 200, lexus is 350 (are they under 10k yet?), cadillac cts

If you want more of an entry level luxury car and rwd and manual isn't as important, your options open up a lot, like the acura tl, lexus es or audi a4

Most of these entry level luxury cars sacrifice mpg for hp, you'd probably have to go a step down to get better mpg. I wouldn't consider the acura tsx or altima in the same class

And sorry, i don't know american makes/models that well, there are probably alot of domestic offerings in the category as well.

Honestly, the g35 gives a lot of performance for the price of the car, which is why I bought mine, and you'd be hard pressed to find similar performance at that price point without sacrificing performance or comfort.

I choose the G simply because of its power for the price. You can burn any 3 series BMW (E46). And of course excluding the M3s.

Or any Benz C class of the same years. Basically anything in its price range.

I was thinking about a Type S RSX also back when i was shopping for cars. But I wanted FR.

Another reason was because of the engine. there are plenty VQ35s out there so parts are never a problem.

Get anything that's not an automatic Honda. The biggest pieces of crap IMO. I don't like Honda period. Try the Genesis Coupe
