sedan is 2-piece... no one sells a one piece CF, but I found a place in HB (So Cal) that will do it - they are reputable and were referred to me from commercial industry connections... its $1100 but they need to destroy OEM drive shaft in order to get proper specs and whatever else they do to make the CF one... I wasnít willing to lose my OEM shaft which is the only reason I havenít done it yet.

There is a post out here somewhere about it and I posted their info - if anyone wants to contact them I'll look up the info in my records at home tonight or this weekend.

for the sedan itís as much about one piece (instead of 2 piece) as it is weight... but, a CF one piece would weigh substantially less than OEM.

I've held meatbags CF shaft and it is VERY lightweight. I'm taking one hand curls all day... it's like a feather - pretty cool.
is meatbags a sedan or coupe?

The coupe uses a two piece driveshaft and it appears that using a one piece unit is not a good idea because the OEM 2 piece driveshaft system employees three univerisal joints. That tells me that there is quite a bit of movement between the front and rear subframe chassis mounts. If you go with the one piece unit, you'll run the risk of having the shaft contact the underbody which could be very dangerous. The driveshaft is already tucked high up in the tunnel therefore extending the angle of driveshaft movement by getting rid of the other univerisal joints could be a really bad idea. There's good reason why Nissan used a two piece shaft in these cars. It would have been cheaper to use the system like the Z, but clearly the 8" longer wheelbase in the G results in more shaft movement.

theres is one area that would need to be cut to clear a one piece shaft... I already looked it over and discussed with TechnoSquare...

as for Nissan having a good reason = well I guess that could be said about the entire car and therefore modding wouldnít be advantageous at all... but some of us like to try different things...

now that I know a shaft has been blueprinted, I might go ahead and get one... if itís no good at least I still have the OEM to fall back on.
