300zx z32 brakes on g35 sedan

Hey guys,

Ive been searching the forums for a while and I haven't really found a definite answer to this.

Is it possible to put z32 calipers on the Front and rear on my 05 g35 sedan? I have a set laying around for my s14 but I was hoping I could use it for my g35 instead?

If it is possible, what is needed?

Thanks!
Alan

Anything is possible as long as you have the fabrication ability. Now this does not mean that it everything is proper. This might not be the answer you were seeking...so no more opinions from me on this.

To my knowledge the G35 brakes are larger than the Z32 brakes.....

you need custom fabbed brackets, and you'd be doing it more for asthetics rather than performance to be honest with you.

There is no need for a custom bracket. The only thing needed is a 1 or 2mm washer to align the caliper over the rotor. The z32 brake rotors are 11" which 1/2" smaller than the g35's brakes in diameter, I wouldn't consider it a huge upgrade because you are loosing some brake torque, but have additional pistons. Think outside the box, what Nissan vehicle has the same size brake rotors (11.6") as the 03-04 g35 and used a 4 piston caliper? Once you figure that out, then you will have an upgrade that is same diameter rotor, thicker as well with 4 piston caliper. The rears will work as well as the z32 uses the same e-brake design. The rear would be an upgrade as the rotor is bigger and uses a 2 piston caliper.

Thanks for all your comments everyone. I guess this would be more for looks if I were to move forward. I have the 350z track rotor brackets too, which would make it a bit more feasible but I think I should look more into it first.

Thanks!

To make it work with the G35 stock rotors (non-brembo), you would have to have a bracket made to make up for the diameter difference. That bracket would also require you to use mounting hardware from both your G and from a 300ZX as the bolts are a little different in diameter.

This hasnt been done before so you're looking at paying someone some good loot to fab it up and then make it for a one off application.

I dont see any benefit of using the 300ZX rotors and calipers on the g35, so i wouldnt even consider that an option.

If you already have the bracket that allows you to use 300ZX calipers with the brembo sized rotors on a 240SX, you will need to drill out the holes in the bracket that mount the bracket to the OEM suspension of your G as the G bolts are a little larger (sorry I dont recall the size). If you went that far, you would need to also get the correct SS lines to make it all work.

I dont think its worth it though, the calipers were made for smaller rotors and its proven that the pads to do not sit properly on the 350Z-brembo-sized rotors. I would seriously just sell what you have and use the money towards buying an OEM brembo set used and then that just simply bolts on (with the exception of the rear dust-shield trimming required)!
