Thank you so much. Tell Infiniti of Denville NJ that they owe you half their commission check.

Sweet! I gotta try this later when I get home! BTW I'm only 5'8" but I could enjoy a lower seating position a la Z ...

I'm glad people have made some use of this thread. I shrunk down those pix so it doesn't take forever to load.

A set of real plyers will work (not the needle noze kind) or I used a set of vice grips. Either way it'll be a pain in the ****. Just try not to squeese too hard because thats not a stong nut.

Aight, so I finally got it to work, and I am not the tallest person, only 5'10. But It feels so much comfortable now, I always used to get a pain in my back after driving.

It's impossible to get the plyers/wrench in there, I couldn't do it. Then, I finally figured it out. My trick:

Don't try to hold the plyers at a 90 degree angle to the rod. The "nut" doesn't require that much force to turn, so just grab it at a 30/45 degree angle from the rod. That's enough to turn it, but not bust your knuckles.

<I'm still recovering from the blood rush to my head>

Seems like about a 1/2" gain. My head was touching constantly before, now I can fit my hand in. Before it was crooked neck in the morning, head touching after noon. Now it's head touching in the morning, clear sailing in the afternoon, by my estimates. (Your spine compresses during the day, and decompresses at night) A huge upgrade for a 6'7" daily driver.

i've been trying this mod all morning and i can't get it to work!! when i grip down hard on the nut ( after i moved the washer and rubber piece back for more room) the seat won't move at all. If i let go a little bit than the pliers start slipping and i can't get a hold of the nut.
