+1 I need to leave my hinges on my body to attach a new trunk to (instead of swapping two trunks that both have hinges)

Used proper torx head but still stripped..... I guess I now have to drill out/ grind off and try and find new bolts. crap

I'm 100% sure you can just remove the trunk. Howwwwwwwwwwwwwever, NO ONE in the history of the G35 community and internet (apparently) has done this and documented it. I'm removing my trunk soon (already attempted it once last week) and will take pics and post something. I can tell you that you, at the very least, have to remove the carpeting/panel on the decklid. There's also 3 10mm nuts to unscrew. THAT'S where it gets complicated. There's some plastic pieces in between the trunk lining that present a bit of a problem and I don't know how many there are. But, as stated, I'll find out and post it.

I did my trunk swap about 2 months ago and read about how other ppl were stripping the torx bolts. What i did was (ghetto, but worked) use the proper torx size with a small craftsman rachet and clamp that to the top side of the trunk using a C-clamp (put some thick paper or similar between the C-clamp and the trunk to avoid scratching your paint). Once you get the torx at the correct angle and tighten the C-clamp, then VERY carefully and slowly begin turning the ratchet. I heard a pop when my bolts broke loose so they're on tight. BTW i strongly suggest you replace those bolts with a button head hex (i think it was an M6 screw) when you put it all back together.

I need to replace my trunk shocks (My trunk slams when its closed). Is it really that easy to uninstall and re-install a aftermarket one? Seems like you just pop one the clip off and I just place the new one on. Any help is appreciated.

Correct, swapping the struts out is a 5 minute job. You will want a small flat screwdriver to pop the retaining clips off and its dead simple. Make sure you have a friend or a long stick to hold the trunk up.

The gap is off on my trunk lid(previous owner got nailed in the passenger side rear corner apparently), is there a way to adjust the gap at the hinges? I appreciate any input, thanks!

So i have changed my trunk with the spoiler to the HD trunk and now I dont have a 3rd brake light. I have found a used rear deck that comes with the 3rd brake light. My question is do i just plug in the 3rd brake light for it to work?
