You apply it the same way as the Dupli-Color stuff the OP used. If you look at the PDF on the Plasti Dip site, it says:

Quote:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
MIX WELL BEFORE USE.
All surfaces to be coated must be free of all oils, grease, dirt, wax and loose rust. A sandblasted or rough surface
improves adhesion. Use PLASTI DIP  PRIMER on all metals for best results.
Oh and check this out:

Quote:
PLASTI DIP  can also be applied to:
Wood: seals and protects from weathering and prevents splinters.
Metal: reduces vibration, deadens sound, prevents corrosion, insulates electrically and
from extreme temperatures.
Glass: shatterproofs glass objects (available in clear).
Rope/Fabrics: weatherproofs, prevents rotting and fraying.
Plastics: protects delicate surfac es from scratches.
Rubber: weatherproofs, wear resistant.
Maps: weatherproofs, tear resistant (available in clear).
I want to try that stuff on a small piece of glass to see how clear it really is.

Oh one question though, when you sand it down, are you doing it by hand or using a machine?

I doit by hand...

I re-did my grill with plasti dip like I said I was going to do. The only problem I seem to have was after some time the can would spray gobs, or it would build up on the tip and as I was sweeping from one side to the other gobs would shoot and land on the grill...

I'll prolly get another fresh can and do another 2 coats for even spray. Also make sure you sand really well, I should have spent more time on the prep work to get all the rock chips out rather than spray over them...

I have to admit I like the finish, as well you only really notice any blemishes when up close...

Heres a few pics...

During (after cleaning with Alcohol)

Ya I know I should have taken more time to get rid of those...when my grill was in better shape last season and I painted it with Krylon, it looked great, until rocks started chipping it.

I'll see what I can do to fix that up because its annoying for sure...
