understandable, anything taken to an extreme could have that result, so maybe a combination of a spacer and adjusting the shield to lense distance by bending the shield forward or back would probably work best? Can a spacer be used under the lense and fit the stock shroud back over the lense. Another question, is that you stated that either a tsx lense or e46 lense could be used. Is there a difference in which one is used and should both fit without modification?

any 2.5" should fit. There are subtle optical differences. I think 300zx has the most crystal clear ones.

I think perhaps a gasket of some sort just under the lens. But perhaps a shift of the bi-xenon solenoid is also possible.

There's not set rule on bending towards or away from the lens. Essentially you're just trying to get the distance to be set so that the cutoff shield will be in perfect focus = sharp cutoff line.

I move the shield when I have the projectors powered with a computer power supply. Then I can determine the optimum distance within a few seconds.

What's clearer? TSX or 300ZX lenses? I have a set of 300ZX, and they are very clear, but they don't look different from the TSX ones.

How many watts is the power supply. I think I need to invest in one for sure.

It's old. Maybe about 200W. But enough to power up a 35W ballast and a 50W ballast simultaneously.

could you clarify what the "metal guide piece" is exactly? I can't figure out which piece you are refering to. Also, when you say to bend the reflector into a more semicircle are you saying to bend the shield closer to the lense, and did you bend both of them? See attached picture for what I am asking. I thinking of trying this with BMW e46 lenses instead, should the steps be the same?

the metal guide piece is the thick silver metal, looking like a gasket that fit between the front half and the rear half of the projector. Since it's a e46 lens, you might have to play with it a little to get the same output, I don't know if the optics of the lens are the same, chances are they are not. I do have E46 lens just havnt tested them. Also bending is just as you drew them, curve it but from the edges of the shield, just curve them so it almost matches the curve on the dome of the projector. Notice how it's sorta flat around the center.

that's what the DIY is for. It's nothing that you can really screw up if you just take your time and have sufficient hand tools.
