(1) JL Audio 10w6v2 OR (2) JL Audio 10w3v3

Like the title says, im either interested in getting (1) JL Audio 10w6v2 OR (2) JL Audio 10w3v3. Money isn't much of an issue with this, mainly because 2 10w3v3 cost about the same price as 1 10w6v2. someone please help me out on what you would recommend.

O and I guess i should go ahead and say this, that i am not interested in getting 2 10w6v2... don't have the $$ for that.

any help at all will be appreciated!

If you want to save space, 10w6. The 10w6 would sound better provided that both setups are in the proper enclosure. Here's a problem though. That w6 will take more power than rated easily, but doesn't need it, but if you surpass it and damage the sub, you void the warranty. With the w3's, staying within the manufactured specs, you would need more power to power both than the single w6.

I agree with Donpisto....

One w6 will give you plenty output and one for one the w6 sounds better than the w3.

I say get a good sized amp and put the w6 in the right box and you will be happy.

well trunk space isnt really a problem, because im looking at getting something like this

now yes i know this is for a coupe, but they also make one just like it for the sedan. and if i went with two 10w3v3's i would just get two sub cutouts.. so either way the box with take up the same amount of room... the offset one with the amp (the one i would do with the 10w6v2) only has one chamber so the airspace isnt over sized.

So i mean, yea i would have to spend a little more for the amp for the 2 w3v3's, but the price of the subs would be the same for (1) w6v2 or (2) w3v3's..

The better sound quality that you get from a w6 will out weigh the little bit more output you get from two w3's.....

Honestly, not only will the W6 sound better, but it will have more output than the w3's. JL really underrates the W6 and W7. I think W7 is rated at 1,000w, but I know people giving them about 2,000w each, it's just that if something gets damaged JL will not validate the warranty since it's mechanical limits were exceeded. In actuality, JL hinders the mechanical limits knowing that some of their customers install their own equipment and do not know exactly what they are doing.

The W6 will take 1,000w no problem, it's just that if you buy it from a place that has a manufacturer's warranty, they may not honor it. If it's set up properly, you'll have no issues.

I have a single 10W6v2, and people are like "holy Shi* that's one sub?" I got a 500/1 pushin it in a 4080 enclosure. It sounds really really sweet. I'd highly reccomend the w6. I had w3's in my neon before, they sounded good but nowhere near as good as the w6.

Two subs doesn't always mean better, and neither does the size of a sub. I've owned 18" subs that can be just as responsive as 10" subs and I've owned 10" subs that can produce low frequencies and have that bottom end that 15's and 18's produce. It all depends on the sub's t/s parameters.

haha, went to Sounds Great and the guy there told me that with the kind of music i listen to (NO RAP, jack johnson, dave matthews, o.a.r., and other soft stuff like that) that i should definately go with 2 10w3v3's....... hahaha i dont know what to do. he said if i listened to rap, than i should go with the one 10w6v2. but he said with the style of music i listen to, i should go with the two 10w3v3's.

what do you guys think of this?

That guy is motivated by profit and probably doesn't know what he is talking about.......

I have nothing to gain.... I cant make you listen to me.

I will tell you that the w6 is the SQ reference for JL. If you put one in the proper enclosure and use the right amp, then you will be very happy.

Last pitch, I come from the car audio competition arena and there have been a few world champions that used the 12" version to spectacular results!!

I'll tell you this right now, that box does not have enough airspace for 2 10" subs. If you want a setup like that, I would go with just the one 10w6. I was running 2 10" IDQs and it could not play the deep frequencies efficiently. I swapped it out with the 4080 box for one 10 and it sounds much better.

i have two 10w6 in 4080s hooked up to a 1000/1 and its more base then your car can handle without being heavily dynomatted, i usually leave the base **** only half way,

that said they can take the 1000 watts easy i wouldn't try it on just one 10w6 when i first installed the amp i tested with one and i wouldn't dare take it all the way seemed like the little guy wanted to rip itself apart, and i did volt meter set my amp so the gains weren't messed up at the time.

as far as sound I have notice in certian songs ... one mic comes to mind there are lows you cant hear only feel so they go low, i tested it with a 20 hz tone and they handled it well... my experience is pretty limited when testing subs but these i like a lot.

EDIT** I mentioned NAS One Mic while it deos have effects and gets really low its not too loud i meant the beginning of got yourself a gun.

Hmmm, I'll check out this song. Want another one that gets low? It's by P Diddy called Diddy Rock. It's at about 2:05, start at 2:00 when Twista starts to rap...it get's loooooow.

that box is for the coupe. i was just showing what it loooks like. the box im getting (for the sedan) has .80 cubic inches of airspace per chamber... the w6 and the w3 both call for .65 cubic inches. so its actually .15 cubic inches too much!
